Erperheide
Sadly I only had half a day to review this Belgium park. The AquaMundo whilst it wasn’t as large as other parks it did seem to be to a slightly higher standard. It had a very feature fancy kids themed area in the pool that was more aligned to a theme park experience - it was really impressive. Flashing lights, sound effects and water features.
The rapids weren’t super long but they gave a bit of a thrill.
What was very nice about this pool was the outdoor area. A higher standard than other parks - it almost felt more spa like.
If you've landed in Erperheid and you fancy a different park for a day visit, Center Parc De Vossermerren is just up the road at only 33 minutes by car. You'll have to pay for a day ticket but if you want an easy compare of sites then it a good option. Equally, jumping over the boarder to Holland, De Kempervennen is also very close.
Signature Feature
It has to be the Baluba. A giant themed area for smaller kids. It’s got a ball pit area with soft ball cannons. If the kids have driven you up the wall get them in here and take aim.
Aqua Mundo
To set expectations, the Erperheide pool is much smaller than most. That said, it does have some real highlights.
The kids area in the pool is really well themed and looks new. Suitable for 4 plus years, it’s got lights, sound, music and mini thrill slides. It’s like a lab environment with bubbles and events that happen. This is perfect for a confident 3 year old or more typically 4+.
The wave pool is noticeably smaller but it does have some unique features such as rock pools you can climb between creating nice cove areas to hang out in.
Whilst not the most thrilling, the rapids will give you a few bumps and bruises so you’d better watch out.
What is noticeable is the quality of this Aqua Mundo, it’s fair to say the quality is better than most; it almost feels spa like in places. This is really noticeable in the outside pools where there is areas to relax, bubble pools and nice furniture. Some parks outside areas feel like they don’t quite cut it, but Erperheide has a lovely feel.
Not necessarily the best for teenagers but this is a great pool complex for toddlers and parents that want to enjoy the quality.
